RULES This regatta shall be governed by: The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS), Prescriptions of US Sailing, GYA Rules for Capdevielle Events, Class Rules. The Mardi Gras Regatta Sailing Instructions (SI’s) shall govern in the event of conflict. Sailing Instructions will be available at the skippers meeting.
ENTRIES GYA Capdevielle – Optional Alternate Format
ONE DESIGN - Minimum 4 boats required constituting a class - All Classes Welcomed:
Melges 32, Moths, J/30, J/24, J/22, Lightning, Open Flying Scott, R-19, V15, Fish Boats, Sunfish, Optimist, etc. All fleets may request in writing on/or before February 1st, 2010 for up to 4 days of racing if desired to include a practice day. If your class is interested but not listed, please contact David Erwin at (504) 296-7140.
REGISTRATION A valid registration shall be a completed and signed registration form and payment of the fee for the class in which you are registering in. You may register on-line at http://NOYC.org/mgr, by phone (504) 283-2581, by mail or in person.

DISCOUNTS US Funds: Cash, Check – payable to NOYC, Visa and MasterCard.
GYA Capdevielle – No registration fee required
Optimist - $20.00
One Design Keel and Board Boats - $50.00
DISCOUNTS
US Sailing members (must present member card) may deduct $5.00.
ENTRY PACKET Registration fee includes a welcome packet with one wrist band for each skipper and crew member to include continental breakfast on race days, keg after race days and Saturday evening party with live music. Additional New Orleans style dinner and party wrist bands can be purchased for $5.00 each.

Friday 02/19 0900hrs Club open – free Continental breakfast
1000hrs Skippers Meeting for the Melges 32 and Moth classes only.
1100hrs First Warning Signal for the Melges 32 and Moth classes only, other races to follow.
1600hrs to 1900hrs Registration for all classes excluding Melges 32 and Moth
1900hrs Welcome to NOYC Regatta Party, door prizes, live music, drink specials
Saturday 02/20 0830hrs Club Open – “Bloody Mary Mornings and Mardi Gras Mimosas” plus free continental breakfast
0830hrs to 1000hrs Registration for all classes excluding Melges 32 and Moth
1015hrs Skippers Meeting for Capdevielle/Open Scots and all other One Design classes.
Optimist skipper’s meeting to be held at Southern Yacht Club
1200hrs First Warning Signal for Capdevielle/Open Scots and all other One Design classes, additional races to follow.
After Race Party Live music, New Orleans Style food, daily awards, door prizes
1900hrs Mardi Gras Recovery Party with live music, cash bar, appetizers
Sunday 02/21 0830hrs Club Open – “Bloody Mary Mornings and Mardi Gras Mimosas” plus free continental breakfast
1000hrs First Warning Signal Melges 32 and Moth Classes. No starts after 1400hrs
1055hrs First Warning Signal for Capdevielle/Open Scots and all other One Design classes. No starts after 1400hrs.
After Race Party Drink Specials, Food, and Awards
NUMBER of RACES GYA Capdevielle – 5 Races will be scheduled in accordance with the Optional Alternate Format as described in Appendix G of the GYA Regulations for Sanctioned Events.
For all other One Design classes – Minimum 3 races constitute a series, with as many races attempted as possible at the discretion of the Race Committee. No starts after 1530hrs on Saturday 2/20. No starts after 1400hrs on Sunday 2/21.
SCORING For all classes – The RRS Low Point System (RRS A4) shall be used. However, no scores shall be excluded. This changes RRS A2.
PRIZES Daily and Overall Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd for Melges 32 and Moth classes. Overall Prizes will be awarded on the last day of racing for all remaining classes at the After Race Party. “Fun Awards” will be awarded on the last day of racing. Capdevielle Prizes will be awarded according to GYA Guidelines.
RACING AREA The racing area will be located on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain.
